Downtown Bentonville Inc. (DBI) announced Tuesday (March 7) the hiring of Aaron Nolan as the Communications Director.

Nolan joins the non-profit with an extensive background in local, state, and national broadcast news. He recently served as Morning in America’s Mid-South correspondent and breaking news anchor on the national network NewsNation. Before that, Aaron worked in on-air roles at KARK-TV in Little Rock, KNWA-TV in Fayetteville, and KOLR/KOZL in Springfield, Missouri.

Nolan covered two Olympic Games: Rio de Janeiro and Pyeongchang and his work has garnered multiple awards, including an Edward R. Murrow regional award for Innovation for NewsfeedNow.

“There is no better fit for this role than Aaron Nolan and our organization is thrilled to add him to our team,” said DBI Executive Director Dana Sargent Schlagenhaft. “Aaron works with the tenacity of a journalist, has a passion for telling stories about our downtown, and may be one of the most enthusiastic cheerleaders for Bentonville that I’ve ever met.”

“I moved to Bentonville not knowing what was next for my career. It didn’t take long for my family to realize we were home. Now joining the amazing DBI team, I am ready to be a champion for Downtown Bentonville. Sometimes you work to live, other times you love to work, it truly is the latter for me,” Nolan said.

Downtown Bentonville Incorporated (DBI) Down produces free, open-to-the-public events throughout the year that are vigorously attended by the Northwest Arkansas community. Each year the non-profit produces popular community events including First Fridays, the Bentonville Farmers Market, the annual Lighting of the Square, and the Bentonville Christmas Parade.

Nolan will serve as DBI’s Communications Director and will step in to guide the organization’s weekly television show which will air at 10:30 AM every Sunday on KFSM-TV beginning in April. DWTN Now promotes the unique vibrancy of Bentonville’s downtown through positive stories and interviews.

Downtown Bentonville Inc. will kick off its First Friday season on Friday, April 7th, followed by the Bentonville Farmers Market on Saturday, April 8th.
