10 Things You Can Expect from First Friday: Community Concert

Here’s a list of what you can expect from First Friday:  Community Concert — in pictures, of course.

1. We are scaling back and spreading out.

Downtown Bentonville Inc. announces the First Friday event scheduled for Friday, September 3rd will go on as planned --- with a different approach.  First Friday: Community Concert will offer live music, ample space for attendees to set up lawn chairs and spread out across the Bentonville Square.

We encourage the community to enjoy live music, spread out, and experience our entire downtown, from the Bentonville Square to 8th Street Market

Big thanks to our First Friday season sponsors:  Walmart, Visit Bentonville, The Walmart Museum, City of Bentonville, Walton Family Foundation.

2.  What you will see.

Half of the usual amount of First Friday vendors and booths

Extra food trucks dispersed across downtown to limit lines for dinner and snacks

Extra space in front of the main stage to allow visitors to spread out and enjoy the music!

3.  What you won’t see.

Activities that require children to gather together, such as inflatable slides and bounce houses

4. Expect added health protocols implemented at First Friday:

September First Friday vendors will be required to wear face masks and will limit hands-on activities at booths

Visitors will have access to hand sanitizing stations dispersed across the First Friday footprint

Masks will be available for guests, and attendees are encouraged to mask up when social distancing is not possible

5.  Get ready to rock!

Festivities begin on the Bay Cities Mainstage at 5 PM with Saturday Morning Jazz Quintet, followed by School of Rock at 6:15 PM and Swade Diablos at 7:30 PM.

6.  COVID-19 vaccination clinic:

A COVID-19 vaccine clinic will be available to walk-ins from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at 105 South Main Street.

The clinic will offer the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine to all walk-ins. No appointment is needed. Walk-ins will be accepted for first and second doses.  Minors aged 12 and above attending the clinic will need to be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian in order to receive a vaccine.

The vaccinations are free; insurance is not required. Those attending the clinics do not need to provide identification or social security card to get vaccinated. Vaccine clinics will be held indoors, in a private space, removed from the event footprint.

7.  Come hungry [Food trucks]

Rolling Taco

Wicked Wood Fired Pizza

8. Now let’s talk...Parking.

You asked.

And we want to offer as much guidance as possible when it comes to parking downtown because we know it can get…tricky.

Please remember that roads directly around the Bentonville Square will be closed to accommodate the crowds.

 9.  When does it all begin?  End?

First Fridays will now run from 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM.

Please be advised and respectful of downtown street closures during this time.

*Also, please stop running over our street closure signs.
