Downtown Bentonville, Inc. Releases New Information
Concerning Upcoming Scheduled Events

Bentonville, AR – Today, Downtown Bentonville Inc. released new details concerning community events for June. Due to continued concerns with the COVID-19 outbreak, the First Friday originally scheduled for June 5th is cancelled.

Downtown Bentonville Inc. will also cancel all mid-week, Wednesday Farmers Markets for the remainder of the year. Instead, DBI will focus resources on the Farmers Market App and Saturday Farmers Market.

“It is our hope, and goal, to get the Saturday Farmers Market back downtown as soon as it is safe to do so,” said Andrew Heath, Downtown Bentonville, Inc.’s Executive Director. “This weekly event is as important to our local economy as it is to our sense of community.”

The organization continues to work alongside Bentonville city officials to determine the best course of action for these events. The Saturday Farmers Market has been converted to a drive-thru model and will remain that way through May.

“Planning is a challenge; we do not know what tomorrow may bring. As long as indicators continue to point in a positive direction, we will continue to plan and execute public events that are safe for the community to enjoy.”

Due to the continued concern for COVID-19, the First Friday scheduled for June is also cancelled.

Heath added that he is optimistic that the community will be able to gather to celebrate First Friday in July, however, that it is too soon for that decision to be made now.

“We will have events again, that I can guarantee, but when, where, and what will they look like is still be determined.”
Downtown Bentonville, Inc., is a nonprofit organization with a mission to strengthen and enhance the Downtown Bentonville Experience for those who live, work, play and visit the area.
