2012 FIRST FRIDAY VENDOR GUIDELINES

March 2nd - Midway to St. Patrick's Day
It's our opening First Friday event of the year, and we're wearing the green!
A celebration of the Irish in all of us, the March First Friday brings in some of the top tier Irish bands from around the country, along with the traditional Irish dance schools and foods that make this a unique event for Northwest Arkansas.

April 6th - International Festival
This global event highlights a snapshot of cultures from around the world bringing in foods, costumes, flags and music from around the globe. This festival incorporates the multiple new restaurants in downtown, and is truly a taste of the world.
May 4th & 5th
The First Friday: Art and Nature is part of Walton Arts Center’s regional Artosphere:Arts & Nature Festival. Artosphere featured artists at the First Friday event includes Canadian fiddler and roots musician April Verch, and award winning bluegrass duo Dailey & Vincent, whom The New York Times is calling "...the most celebrated new bluegrass act of the last few years."
Artosphere continues on to Saturday, May 5th with live music at the Bentonville Farmers Market and the Walton Art Center Trail Mix Concert Tour on the Crystal Bridges Trail. The event also includes a wide variety of food, gallery openings, special retail events and children's activities.

June 1st & 2nd - Bentonville ArtWalk
Part of the month long June Arts Festival, the Bentonville Art Walk includes the June 1st First Friday and June 2nd Farmers Market. The two-day Bentonville Artsfest will focus on visual arts and include live music and a special exhibition from R.E. Baker Elementary School. The event is sponsored by Art Seen 107 , Tom & Becky McCoy, Northwest Arkansas Newspapers and KUAF

July 6th & 7th - American Art and Music Festival
Celebrating the American Spirit through art and music, this event will highlight Blues and Rock genres, along with special programming at Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art. This event also included the 4th Annual Hot Dog Eating Contest. Sign up at the event. Must be 18+ to enter. The festival is sponsored by Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art, Vita Coco Coconut Water and Team Direct Management.


August 3rd - Back to School
Joining forces with the Bentonville School District and Nickelodeon, Downtown Bentonville is celebrating going back to school! Check out a wide variety of Nickelodeon and its partners toys and activities and meet-n-greet your teachers and PTO programs from the Bentonville School District.

September 7th & 8th - Slaughter Pen Jam Music festival
With the Slaughter Pen Hollow Jam Bike Festival as a backdrop, this three day event will include multiple award winning bluegrass musicians from around the country. Sponsored by the I'll Fly Away Foundation.

October 5th - Oktoberfest
While not the same as the famous Bavarian festival, we offer an array of tradition German music, polka and homemade bratwurst. We even have a Root Biergarten for the entire family! Sponsored by PepsiCo
November 2nd - Toyland
Over 50 Walmart toy vendors come in from around the country to showcase their new toy lines, offering a unique opportunity for Northwest Arkansas citizens and beyond to get a sneak peak at Santa’s Christmas list. Live music, food and kid’s activities are included in this event. See and experience the latest in childhood fantasy just in time for the holiday season. Sponsored by Walmart and the Walmart Visitor Center

Saxophonist Grady Nichols went from small town Midwest beginnings to the big time as an internationally known saxophonist. With his new CD, Destinations, grady steps into new territory by peppering this project with a driving banjo, pedal steel guitar, steel drums and string section woven seamlessly into a cohesive contemporary jazz / pop setting.
